wow!  it's been over a year since my last post!

well, this friday marks the end of the school year at isabelle jackson with my kindergarteners.  this year has flown by and i'm really going to miss my family at jackson!  but... i'm moving to the bay area!!!  i'm super excited about being a "city girl" and starting my new life out there!  and not being so far away from my honey.    i've got a job already set up and i'll be teaching first grade!  they're not on a year round schedule, so i'll have to get used to not having all of those breaks throughout the year.  it'll be tough, but i'm sure that i'll get used to it.

life has been wonderful and god has been incredibly faithful!

so i've been back at work for two weeks now and they have flown by!  i met my new kinders for next year... so cute!  they're so tiny!  

i'm starting to feel kinda guilty.  it seems like anytime i talk to anyone i'm saying that i'm on vacation or will be on vacation soon.  so the next time that i'll be off will be the first couple of weeks in july...

cute kid story: so i was talking to the kids about how we celebrated mother's day during our off-track time and went into how father's day is this coming sunday.  then this little guy raises his hand, completely serious, and asks, "well when's kid's day?"  haha.  EVERY DAY IS KID'S DAY!  

i'm going to disneyland!!!

i'll be going on wednesday for their 50th anniversary!!!  i totally got the hook up... free admission to disneyland and california adventure and free nights at the hilton.  i am a lucky girl!  i'm so excited about the new fireworks show, new parades, buzz lightyear ride, and golden rides!!!  disneyland and i have something in common... we both give homes to feral cats/kittens!  speaking of feral cats, i'm going to become an official kitten foster parent.  there's a class that i need to take and after that i will be official! 

the kitten has a home!  i'm happy and sad all at the same time!  they named him "mugsy," even though he doesn't strike me as a "mugsy" type of kitten.  it was a sad day for the secretary too bc she got quite attached to him.  but she did ask me if i wanted to do the same sort of thing, socializing kittens before putting them up for adoption, again.  so i too will become a feral kitten saver.   but if the end of each week or so ends in tears bc it's time to say goodbye, i don't know how much i'll be able to handle. 

i only have a month and a half until the end of this school year!  wow, it just flew by!  i have the rest of this month, the month of may off, and then back in june, and then a new group of kinders at the end of july.  my kids have grown up so much this year!  i'm so proud of them! 

cute kid story: one of the girls in class comes running up to me, "nick is trying to kiss jaylene."  i call nick over and ask him pretty much what the heck he's trying to do and he says, "well, she just looks so pretty."  aw, so innocent.

i have a kitten!  just for the weekend...    one of the secretaries at my school is with an organization that rescues feral cats and kittens.  so this little guy is about 5 weeks old and so cute and tiny!  since he's feral, he's not used to people and that was a big problem when we got home.  i thought that the bathroom was the perfect place to let him run around and entertain himself.  it took him some time to get out of pet taxi, but once he did, he was playing with his toys and having a good ol' time.  so i decided that i'd put some food away in the kitchen while he did this.  i came back and he was no where to be seen!  i looked around the apartment and no kitty!  i went back to the bathroom and saw this kitty face sticking out of the hole in the corner of my bathroom.  apparently, the apartment was too cheap to board up the entire bottom under my bathroom sink/drawer area and he climbed through a small hole where i couldn't even get my hand through.  i was freaking out thinking that he'd stay in there all weekend and i'd have to come back to school with no kitty on monday.  i figured that it was no use fretting over it and if i was there laying on the ground looking at it, it would not want to come out even more.  so i left him alone... an hour passed and the kitty still did not come out.  he finally came out to get some food and i grabbed him and put him in the pet taxi while i taped up the hole.  while i'm closing the hole, he is hysterical in the pet taxi.  he's meowing like crazy and is furiously trying to claw out of the pet taxi.  at this point, i'm thinking that i'm not going to last the weekend.  i patch up the hole and let him out once he's cooled down.  i sit and play with him. give him some food.  hold him.  take him to the living room and put him on my tummy.  then he fell asleep on my tummy.  so to make things short, he and i are cool now.  he might even be getting used to me.  i put him in the bathroom while i took care of some stuff in the kitchen and he was meowing... maybe he missed me?  :)

a gal from the pta invited me over to paint ceramics at her place tomorrow.  wow, that sounds so old.  i'm friends with a lady in the pta who is old enough to be my mom and we're going to paint ceramics?!?!?   but i'm going out dancing tomorrow night and it's been a while since i've done that.. so maybe that makes everything okay?
